Creative Technologist and Educator

Building live worlds across performance, XR, AI, and real-time media.

Victor E. Morales is a Venezuelan-born multimedia artist, animator, and professor whose practice bridges immersive design, generative systems, and theatrical thinking.

Overview

Professional practice shaped by performance and technology.

Currently a full-time faculty member at Montclair State University’s College of Communication and Media, Morales creates immersive worlds that merge theatrical philosophy with real-time 3D and AI systems.

His projects, including Rapid Transit, Desastres de la Guerra VR, and Esperpento (Sundance New Frontier 2019), combine experimental storytelling, political critique, and technological innovation across hybrid physical and digital spaces.

Selected Work

Projects in performance, immersive media, and speculative image-making.

2018-2019

Esperpento

A hybrid project spanning the live performance Two Black Lights & One Red and the video installation Caprichos, exploring technology as a new panacea entangled with social dysfunction, estrangement, and theatrical excess.

Recognition: Sundance New Frontier 2019.

Model Histories

An evolving multimedia installation and interactive archive by Victor Morales and Ben Williams that merges local history with generative AI, inviting audiences to question truth, memory, and machine-made images through a poetic, game-like interface.

First presented at the Red Hook Public Library in Dutchess County, New York, in October 2025.
